Hearing Aids Louisville Kentucky
Welcome to the site that once and for all gives consumers legitimate information about hearing aid designs and market prices. The principles behind the site are discussed fully in our on-line book “How to Win at Hearing Aids” (click on the Hearing Found logo to access the book from the home page), but to summarize – our mission is to create market transparency equal to that of other technology products like smartphones and flat panel TV’s, and thereby empower consumers to seek out and realize real value from a hearing aid purchase.
Though the business is plagued with a number of sales centered practices, none is more ridiculous than the unavailability of manufacturer’s suggested retail prices, or the universal dealer practice of not publishing or discussing their prices with prospective customers in advance of a hearing test (see Appendix B: “Price Double Talk”).
Don’t mistake the prices published at middle-men sites like Hearing Planet or Zip Hearing as dealer prices. Those middle-men prices are imposed on so called participating dealers who must pay a substantial share of their profit to the referring site if you buy. This means those prices are inflated by the amount of that referral fee.
Our “RIC Report” helps you defeat the referral fee by first identifying the industry’s most desirable models, and by publishing their current middle-man pricing. Use that knowledge to seek out local dealers directly and negotiate a lower fair price – the essence of smart money decision making.
About Our Dispensing Practice
Hearing Found has provided hearing aid fitting services to the residents of Central Kentucky and Southern Indiana since 2010. Initially those services were conducted under our retail brand “Show Me Hearing Centers.” Due to the intense price competition brought on by the entry of Costco and Sam’s Club, we’ve transformed from a store-front based business into a concierge class provider dealing direct with customers on a house-call basis. This allows us to continue fitting best-in-class product while remaining competitive with the big-box retailers.
As believers in market transparency, we detail every aspect of our products, prices and business policies within the “Our Dispensing Practice” section. As of November 1st, 2015, Hearing Found is the only dealer within Kentucky who publishes prices and policies.
We fully subscribe to the FDA’s position concerning medical conditions of the ear (see Chapter 2, “The FDA’s Advice to Hearing Aid Buyers”) and cooperate closely with all physicians specializing in the ear, internal medicine or family practice within our area.
If you would like to discuss your hearing concerns, please use the “Contact Us” section to request a phone call from one of our Kentucky or Indiana licensed dispensers, or call (502) 644-7991 to speak with the company owner.
